BEHIND THE SCENES TOURS

DIVE DEEPER INTO OUR WORLD OF PENGUIN WELFARE

Our popular tour programmes give you the chance to see up close all the fascinating work done ‘backstage’ in our penguin habitat and penguin welfare centre.

Penguin Backstage Experience

Ever wondered what it takes to keep our colony of rescued penguins healthy and happy? Our exclusive backstage experience offers an insider’s glimpse into the dedicated work that goes into running a rescue centre for the world’s smallest penguin species; the Kororā, Little Blue Penguin.

Limited to just 6 participants, this exclusive tour grants backstage access to areas typically off-limits to other guests. Guided by our knowledgeable Antarctic Guides or dedicated Penguin Keepers, you’ll embark on a captivating 40-minute journey delving into the daily routines of a Penguin Keeper and gaining insights into the lives of our charming penguin residents.

Discover firsthand our cutting-edge facilities and the meticulous care that ensures the wellbeing of our penguins. Explore the inner workings of our vet room, marvel at intriguing specimens like penguin feathers, eggs, and skeletons; and expand your penguin knowledge in ways you never thought possible.

Book your Penguin Backstage Experience today and let the adventure begin!

*Health notice: The Penguin Backstage Experience is not recommended for anyone with a compromised immune system (i.e. chemotherapy or HIV exposure) due to the close bird contact and potential exposure to bird faeces.
