Opening Hours
Open daily, 9am–4:30pm, except Christmas Day. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Getting Here
The Centre is approximately a 15-minute drive from Christchurch central city or a 5-minute walk across the road from the Christchurch Airport terminal.

Café
With indoor and outdoor seating, our café is the perfect spot to refuel during your Antarctic adventure. Enjoy great coffee and quick, tasty meals for hungry explorers. Open daily, winter hours: 9am–3pm.

Parking
We have plenty of free on-site parking that is suitable for cars, camper vans, motorbikes and coaches. We do not recommend leaving valuables in your parked vehicles.

Gift Store
At our gift store, you’ll find a range of unique Antarctic-inspired gifts, souvenirs and keepsakes to remember your visit. Whether you’re shopping for someone special or treating yourself, there’s something for every explorer. Open daily, 9am–4:30pm.

Facilities
The International Antarctic Centre is fully accessible, so everyone can enjoy the experience. Accessible facilities, including toilets and baby changing areas, are available at the entrance and inside the attraction near the 4D Theatre exit.

Public Transport
If you’re taking public transport, the No. 8 bus stops right outside the International Antarctic Centre or the No. 29 bus is only a short walk away. You can find timetables and more details at Metro.
