We have a range of options including daytime meetings and conferences, through to full cocktail and evening functions in our silked Atrium. The International Antarctic Centre offers guests the opportunity to experience for themselves the awe-inspiring beauty of Antarctica, while its versatility of space, exceptional service and quality catering makes it suitable for all manner of functions.
Meeting and Conference Rooms
We have meeting rooms available for your daytime function needs. Both our rooms are suitable for up to 40 guests and can be arranged in theatre or table style. Our in-house caterers will manage your catering requirements.
Sir Ed Hillary Room:
Located on our mezzanine floor, the Sir Ed Room offers views over our atrium area and natural light.

The Tim Hobson Room:
Our largest conference space. It has natural light with views to outside, and is located on our mezzanine floor. This room is perfect of larger conferences, dinner events and workshops.

Cocktails, Dinners and MoreThe Atrium is a superb venue for all number of events, from seated dinners through to cocktail evenings, balls and product launches.
Or we can arrange an elegant silk lined Marquee, set up alongside the Attraction to accommodate any number of guests for dinner and dancing.
For a unique breakfast event, why not try Breakfast with the Penguins?
An elegant dining space for up to 100 guests, the Atrium may also accommodate 300 guests for cocktail functions. Its spectacular hand-painted mural, dramatic lighting, silked lining and white marble floor combine to make the Atrium a highly presentable, functional and wholly unique venue.
To ensure your event is truly one of the ‘coolest’ in town, guests can opt to include full or partial access to our indoor attraction including the Hagglund ride, ‘Antarctica’ the snow and Ice experience (with optional ice bar), 4D Extreme Theatre and the New Zealand Penguin Encounter.
A silk-lined marquee offers a superb venue option and we can accommodate large numbers for dinner.
The marquee is set up adjacent to the Centre, and connected by way of a short undercover ramp and walkway. Silk linings, heating, lighting, round tables, chairs, dance floor and stage are supplied with the marquee and the result is quite magical. There are several marquee rental options priced from $45.00 + GST per guest, as well as configurations which offer larger groups an opportunity to experience this wonderful venue. Breakfast with the Penguins
A unique product for groups at the Antarctic Centre is ‘Breakfast with the Penguins’, an early morning mix of a hearty buffet breakfast from our Café team with an educational presentation from one of our Rangers on Antarctica, all against a backdrop of swimming Little Blue penguins.
