If you are a Canterbury local you can visit the Antarctic Centre for HALF PRICE.

This offer applies to the XTREME pass and the XPRESS pass only.

XTREME pass: Do EVERYTHING on offer at the Antarctic Centre including penguins, indoor attraction, unlimited Hagglund rides and our 4D EXTREME Theatre.

XPRESS pass: On a budget or short of time? Do everything EXCEPT Hagglund rides and 4D EXTREME Theatre.

ANTARCTIC AMBASSADOR

We know and appreciate that locals promote the Antarctic Centre by recommending their holidaying family & friends visit. However, we understand it is not always ideal to simply drop them off for a few hours if having to pay each time, discourages you from enjoying repeat visits. So, we came up with this deal for locals to visit FREE if you're accompanying a full-paying out of town visitor.

How does it work?  Here are some definitions to help:

• 'Out of town visitor' is defined as someone who YOU ACCOMPANY, who lives OUTSIDE Canterbury. In other words they could be from the North Island, overseas or other parts of the South Island.
• 'Full-paying' is defined as the out of town visitor paying our regular entry price.
• 'Your visit is free' is defined as "ticket for ticket". ie; if your out of towner buys an adult ticket then the local is entitled to a free adult ticket. If you bring in an out of town family who buys a family ticket, then you, the local family, are entitled to a free family ticket. On the other hand, if your family comes in bringing just Aunt Molly, then your entitlement is still one free adult ticket only.

 Terms & Conditions

 Definition of 'local': you live within the province of Canterbury (see map below). 

Proof of being a local: to take advantage of any prevailing locals offers please bring with you, to show our ticketing staff when you buy your tickets, evidence being:

1. photo ID for yourself and any other adult in your party invoking the locals' offer. Note, accompanying children are assumed to be part of your family & no separate ID is required.

2. evidence of living in the locals' area on the map such as drivers licence, bank statement, rates assessment, library card etc. As long as it has your name on it PLUS your local address so our staff can match it with your photo ID, then you're eligible!

Note: Locals' offers are valid only at our ticketing counter in person and not able to booked online or redeemed for group visits such as education groups or wholesale tour groups under voucher.
