Room for Hire

Overview

We have a function room, within our attraction, available for hire. The International Antarctic Centre, located at Christchurch Airport, is an award-winning tourist attraction show-casing modern-day Antarctica. The Centre’s prime location, combined with a dearth of conference space at the airport, makes this room highly desirable for its proximity to attendees arriving or departing by air.

Function Room specs

• Dimensions: 8m x 6m (26’ x 20’)

• Lighting: note there is no natural light as this room is fully internal with no window

• Maximum attendee nos: 35 ‘comfortable’, 40 ‘compact’

• Collateral noise: the room is fully insulated from the day to day traffic through our attraction, however the room DOES neighbour our 4D Show Theatre resulting in some audible muffled noise through the wall for approx 10 mins each hour when the show runs. Previous clients have reported this has not been an issue and does not interrupt the flow of a speaker, but we do draw your attention to the matter

• Hours: the room is available for use during our attraction opening hours being 9:00am – 5:00pm (Apr-Nov) 9:00am – 7:00pm (Dec-Mar). Organisers have access to the room for set up and pack down for half an hour either side of these hours
